A 3kg electric melting furnace for melting and casting metals including gold, silver, copper, aluminium, lead, tin, zinc and sterling silver. The furnace combines a high-temperature ceramic melting chamber, graphite crucible and digital PID temperature control.

Key Features

  • Maximum Temperature: Up to 1150°C.
  • 3kg Graphite Crucible: High-purity graphite with good thermal conductivity and a pouring groove for easier transfer of molten metal.
  • PID Temperature Control: Digital control system with a K-type thermocouple monitors the furnace temperature for accurate operation.
  • Insulated Design: High-temperature-resistant ceramic chamber and insulated lid help retain heat during melting.
  • Applications: Suitable for workshop and metal-casting applications involving gold, silver, copper and other compatible metals.

Important Safety & Operating Information

  • Read the instruction booklet supplied with the furnace before use.
  • Do not exceed 70% of the maximum crucible capacity.
  • Before use, preheat the machine and crucible to 300–500°C for 3–5 minutes to help prolong crucible life.
  • The maximum continuous working time is 3 hours. After 3 hours, switch the machine off and allow it to cool for a minimum of 3 hours.
  • Do not move the furnace until it has cooled completely. Allow approximately 3–5 hours for cooling.
  • Do not place a hot graphite crucible directly onto a cold metal surface, as rapid cooling can cause cracking.
  • Cracks may develop in the inner ceramic chamber due to normal temperature fluctuations and do not necessarily affect operation.
  • Typical heating and melting time is approximately 48–60 minutes.
